Had the Pleasure Yesterday of restoring some life into this Classic VK Charger. Spent around 5 hours doing about a 90% Paint Correction. The paint was quite badly swirled and had been keyed in a few places. The owner is looking at a respray in a couple of years. The interior is immaculate and only has about 200,000km on the clock. The engine had to be rebuilt due to an engine fire after a piston melted. The VK Charger engine is a 5.9l 360ci V8. Everything on the car apart from the new engine, is original.
I was lucky enough to detail this immaculate specimen of a rare classic. This Toyota Crown has belonged to one owner since new and has been fastidiously cared for. Even with 150,000km, it still looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. We spent a combined 6 hours meticulously detailing the interior and exterior to enhance the flawless finish. The paintwork had been completely rustproofed when new and plastic covered the whole floor from 2 weeks of age.
Toyota Crown Royal Saloon
The Royal Saloon Since 1955 has always been Toyota’s pinnacle of luxury. Such features included Dual Zone Air Conditioning, Electric Windows, Power Steering, Rear Cooler Box and 4 Wheels Disc Brakes. I was able to spend some time talking to the owner who had just turned 80 and look forward to seeing the other classic cars he has restored soon. Enjoy.
What a beauty! I love being able to make a car that is 44 years old, shine like the day it was made. I have a real passion for cars, but being able to work on the classics (like this Dodge Charger) are a real highlight for me.
